Swarm Calls “Help, there is a swarm of bees in my backyard!” WE DO NOT DO BEE REMOVALS PLEASE DO NOT CALL ME TO HELP YOU WITH BEE REMOVAL WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO TALK ABOUT YOUR BEE REMOVAL We are busy beekeepers with a busy apiary and a beekeeping store, sorry, but I get 5-10 removal calls a day, so I am being clear and direct. WHO CAN YOU CALL? – READ BELOW: Beekeepers LOVE swarms!!! There is no need to panic! Swarms are clusters of bees located out in the open, especially on trees. Swarm removals typically take an hour or less, are most successful late in the day, and may be done for free or for a small travel fee to help with gas. (Example of swarm in photo above) WHEN IT IS NOT A SAME DAY, JUST LANDED, SWARM: If the bees have moved inside a tree trunk or moved into or underneath a home or structure, we would call that a “cut-out” or a REMOVAL and only a few beekeepers will do that. Chuck and I do not do removals or cut-outs, sorry, but we will refer you to someone who can. Keep in mind that there is ALMOST ALWAYS a FEE for cut-outs since it requires more than just collecting the bees. ($250+ is commonly charged for cut-outs) Everyone who calls us about a FREE CUT-OUT always has an emergency, is deathly allergic, has an elderly person/very young child in danger or is getting ready to have all the bees poisoned if we don’t come get them right now. We have already heard every story and every excuse as to why we should come get your bees for free. BEE REMOVALS are not FREE, they are HARD WORK, TAKE A LONG TIME, AND YOU NEED AN EXPERT, its a full-time JOB to REMOVE BEES.
